Christian Community Ministries is a registered charity which looks to serve the needy in a practical caring way. At the same time we try to show the Love of Jesus Christ and to share His gospel of Repentance, Forgiveness and Reconciliation to God the Father.

Harvest...with a twist
Over the years CCM has had more Harvest Appeals than we can remember! Despite all the good changes in Romania, there are still people living in poverty and desperate need. Many families in and around Cluj Napoca, cannot afford the basics such as food, toiletries and other every-day supplies. Their need is for the simple things that we might use every day but often take for granted. A high cost of living and low wages has made the situation particularly bad. We are asking for your practical help to make their lives a little easier.
We are asking for tinned fruit and vegetables, pasta, rice, sugar – all the basic staples; toiletries such as soap, shampoo, nappies. Follow the links on the right for more information as to what to include.

In 2011, several tonnes of staple foodstuffs, cleaning products and toiletries were taken to Romania. Much of it was distributed to families living in desperate poverty in and around Cluj Napoca and further afield to Moldova. Lots of fruity donations were also received specifically for the Transylvania Autism Association. Many thanks to everyone who took part; your support is much appreciated.
2012!
This year we will again be helping the Transylvania Autism Association (AAT) with our Harvest Appeal as well as families in Cluj and Moldova living in poverty.
Snack packs of dried fruit, long life fruit juices, tinned fruit are all healthy foods for the children to be eating but are incredibly expensive in Romania - prohibitively so! To try and help reduce costs in other areas, we are also requesting any art and craft equipment. These are used extensively with the children during therapy sessions and help with every aspect of their development, mentally and physically. Again, hugely expensive in Romania!

The need is still great despite the huge changes in Romania over the years. The staff of CCM Romania are contacted by many people asking for food hampers and support from this appeal. There can never be too much! If you would like to support the CCM Harvest Appeal,it would be really helpful if you could let us know, either by completing and returning the Registration Form, or via e-mail (Contact Us page). Once we have your details, we will then send you posters and any other information you might need.

You could decide to help us as a Church, a school, Youth group or work place. You could donate goods and produce or finances to help with transportation costs. Whatever you can give, no matter what amount, will make a difference in someone's life. You are welcome to include a greeting card and/or photo of your group and we will ensure it is passed on with the goods.

Donations can be received at any time during the year provided the use by date on the goods is after March 2013 or later. The closing date for donations is FRIDAY 2nd NOVEMBER 2012. Donations received after this date will either be stored for the next delivery or passed on to local charities supporting the homeless or families in poverty in our own community.

If you think you will need your donations to be collected, please contact the office as soon as possible to arrange collection.

Who will benefit?
These children are one family that has already benefited from one of our Harvest boxes. Their parents had gone into the next village to market for selling and buying produce. They had left the house early that morning, on foot, and would not be returning until much later that evening.
