SOS - Save our Soles - Appeal
In India, children are not allowed to attend school unless they have shoes. Without shoes they cannot go to school, get an education or qualifications. No qualifications means no job and no job means no hope of ever escaping the cycle of poverty they and their family are living in. We need your unwanted footwear of any condition which we will sell or recycle to raise funds to buy the barefoot children of India some new shoes to go to school in. To find out more, click here. |

Shoebox Appeal
Pack a shoebox with a selection of gifts that will bring a smile to the faces of those who receive it. It is an easy principle on which thousands of under privileged children have received the unseen gifts of love, care and compassion. To find out more, click here. |

Harvest Appeal
Despite all the changes for the better in Romania, there are still people living in poverty and desperate need. Many of the families in the surrounding areas of Cluj Napoca cannot afford the basics such as food, toiletries and other every-day supplies. Their need is for the simple things that we might use every day but often take for granted. A high cost of living and low wages has made the situation particularly bad. We are asking for your practical help to make their lives a little easier. For more information click here. |

Organising your own fundraising event for CCM will be busy, challenging, exciting, rewarding, fulfilling...
and it will help us continue to make a difference in the lives of those we support. We have posters, leaflets, invitations and some top tips to help your event go well. If you already have a great idea, please get in touch but if you are still wondering what to do, here are some ideas to get you started: |
Clothes Swap - have you and your friends a wardrobe packed with clothes and still got nothing to wear? Everything too small or too big or are you simply just bored? Get together with family, friends and colleagues and bring all your clothes that you are no longer wearing. Have a great evening trying on each others clothes and swapping your wardrobes around. Make a donation to CCM for every new item you go home with. Don't forget to bring the clothes that nobody wants to the Charity Shop!
Auction of Promises Gather together Promises from family, friends, colleagues and business, for example I promise to clean your car, or babysit for 5 hours, or a day of pampering from the local beauty salon, and then simply auction them off. This works really well when combined with another event eg a gala dinner.
Coffee Morning or afternoon tea party or even a dinner party, safari supper or progressive meal!
Non-Uniform Day An all-time favourite for school children. Maybe you could get your teachers to dress in your uniform just for a change (and a laugh!). If you are too grown up for school, organise a dress down day at the office and make people pay for the priviledge.
Family Fun Day If you've got the space, organise a fun day for colleagues, neighbours, family and friends. You could have a simple barbecue and garden games or go a little bit more elaborate with a bouncy castle, face painting, competitions, treasure hunts. The only limitations are your imagination.
Sales A garage sale from your own home, a bring and buy sale in your local church hall, a car boot sale, a cake sale, a hand-made card sale...the options are endless.
Collection Boxes A collection box can be any container you choose it to be. Did you know a Smartie tube holds £** worth of 20p pieces (and you get to eat the Smarties first!)? Buy all your friends a tube of Smarties on the condition that they give you the tube back full of 20p's. You could go round your colleagues on a Friday and ask them to donate all their loose change to your collection box, whether that's an old coffee jar or giant water bottle!
